Suitable for Shade sail connections
Stainless steel Bow Shackles are a very stylish way to fit shade sails. Their curved design gives an added elegance to fitting a shade sail and are recommended for our Sundance Shade cloth Sail range which features an 'easy slide' corner which a D-Shackle will not fit over.
Our Bow Shackles are all made from high quality AISI 316 Marine Grade Stainless Steel. A Bow Shackle has two main paths, the body and the pin. The body has an anchor shape (bow) as opposed to a chain shape (commonly called a D-Shackle). Each body shape can be used, depending on the specific application, with a screw pin or bolt-type pin.
In a straight pull load, our Bow Shackles match or exceed the rated loadings of our D-Shackles. However, when the load is pulled from the side the overall strength can be reduced if the load is not centred. A good tip is to tie a galvanised wire around the shackle pin to ensure that it doesn't work loose over time.
