The 1.83m wide x 30m weights approx. 11kgs and the 3.66m wide x 30m weights approx. 22 kgs.

Does Universal 90% have eyelets?
Universal 90% does not have eyelets, however, it is manufactured with a selvedge edge therefore if you attach to a fence at regular intervals, it will hold perfectly well.
How do I cut the fabric?
We recommend using a shade cloth cutter. They are available on this website.
Will it fray if I cut it?
No. It is a knitted fabric and uses a lock stitch construction. The cut edge will be raw but it will not unravel.
Is it waterproof?
Universal 90% shade cloth is not waterproof. If you need waterproof shade cloth we stock this product in the same 90% grade in Sandstone and Dark Green, just browse for Waterproof Shadecloth.
Will the colour fade?
The fabric is very colour fast however over the longer term some slight fading can occur when the fabric has been constantly exposed to environments of high UVR.
What’s the difference between Commercial and Domestic Shade cloth?
Domestic shade cloth is made with a tape filler to increase its opacity. This tape filler is knitted into the fabric between the strands of monofilament. Think of monofilament as being like fishing line. When it is knitted together it forms a fabric, in this case, shade cloth.
The difference between domestic and commercial shade cloth is that commercial shade cloth is 100% monofilament (knitted fishing line). It has no tape filler. This makes commercial shade cloth very strong and suitable for use under tension. Domestic shade cloth is not suitable for high tension applications such as shade sails because the tape filler stretches at a different rate to the monofilament. Domestic shade cloth is designed to be spread over a frame work, like a pergola, not tensioned out like a shade sail.
What’s the warranty?
10 Years Pro rata against UV Degradation.
I want to buy it for privacy. Will it completely block out my neighbours?
Shadecloth is designed to reduce the temperature underneath and is a knitted fabric, thus is porous. Accordingly, it will not provide a full visual block, however, visibility is significantly reduced and 90% Universal is certainly the most suitable shade cloth on the market for providing privacy. It is long lasting due to UV stabilisation and is easy to install.
Customers who need higher levels of screening can use the fabric doubled as long as the fence or attachment points are adequate. This greatly increases its block out. The darker shadecloth absorbs rather than reflects light. With a lighter colour the sunlight is reflected back at your eye and makes it harder to see through, ie, lighter colours are better for privacy.
Note, due to the knitted construction of the fabric along with the selvedge edge eyelets are not necessary as long as the fabric is attached at regular intervals with cable ties, butterfly clips, hog rings or another suitable method.
