FibreSun Umbrellas are made from fibreglass but look like timber. Fibreglass makes them very strong while keeping the natural look of timber. Suitable for commercial installations as well as home owners who are after a lightweight but strong umbrella.

Umbrellas, Backyard Umbrellas, Commercial Umbrellas

Fibreglass market umbrellas are becoming better known and more popular in Australia. The reasons are that they are much stronger and lighter than timber, yet commercial operators can still achieve the natural look and feel of wooden umbrellas. FibreSun umbrellas are commercial market umbrellas designed to withstand the rigors of everyday use. They are made using fibreglass ribs and single piece pole. The hubs and runners are made from resin which is also stronger than wood. All the components achieve the same look and feel of wood but without the traditional problems of cracking and breakage. The beautiful fibreglass frame gives the look of timber umbrellas but with the strength and flexibility of fibreglass.

Unlike timber frames, fibreglass umbrellas flex in the wind and resist breaking. FibreSun umbrellas are very resistant to breakage due to their strength and flexibility.

The Sunranger Fibresun can be screen printed for commercial purposes. Give us a call on 1800 155 233 to obtain a quote.

FRAME

The Fibresun features a beautiful teak wood grain finish appearance but with the strength and flexibility of fibreglass. The Fibresun requires a base to hold a 50mm diameter pole.

BEST SUITED FOR

  • Hire companies who need to supply a strong but elegant umbrella to their clients
  • Commercial operators such as resorts, hotels cafes and restaurants
  • Domestic use on patios, verandahs and balconies.
  • Around swimming pools as they are resistant to corrosion
  • Any location where a timber-look umbrella is required

BASE SELECTIONS

The Fibresun Umbrella has a 48mm diameter pole but at the bottom, it is fitted with an aluminium sleeve for strength. This sleeve prevents the side-screws damaging the fibreglass frame when they are tightened. This aluminium sleeve makes takes the diameter of the pole to 49.5mm.

This means that when fitting it to a standard base such as a Sunranger Umbrella Base the plastic sleeve at the top of the spigot must be removed. The umbrella then fits directly into the spigot. Depending on which umbrella base you choose, this can leave a small gap at the top. Photos showing some popular umbrella bases for Fibresun Umbrellas below.

Is fibreglass stronger than wood/timber and steel?

Fibreglass is very flexible. That allows the umbrella to bend in the wind. Unlike timber umbrella which can break in strong winds or if they fall over, fibreglass umbrellas are much stronger and resist breaking in adverse conditions.

Does it really look like wood?

Yes. The fibreglass has been finished with a special treatment to give it the look of a natural timber umbrella. Some people never notice the difference.

Can I print my logo onto this umbrella?

Yes. The fabric is suited to screenprinting. We don't digitally print these umbrellas.

Do I need to buy any other bits and pieces to use this umbrella?

You’ll need some form of umbrella base or stand to support the umbrella. We also recommend purchasing an umbrella protection cover. This will help protect the fabric when not in use. Under the Brochures Tab you’ll find a chart which gives the correct size protection cover for each umbrella.

Can I leave this umbrella up all the time?

We recommend that you collapse the umbrella when not using it.  Although it is a strong umbrella and is tolerant to breezy conditions, it is always a good idea to fold it away when not in use, just in case a strong wind comes along and damages it.

The Sunranger Fibresun comes with a 2 year warranty on the fame and a 1 Year fade resistant warranty on the fabric.

Warranty is on workmanship.  It does not cover umbrella which are damaged due to wind.  Should a warranty claim be made it is the responsibility of the customer to get the umbrella back to us or a repair depot which we designate.  The condition of the umbrella will be assessed and if it is a legitimate warranty claim, we will carry out the repairs at our cost and return the umbrella to you at our cost.

Umbrella Care & Maintenance

Outdoor umbrellas are a staple in any garden, patio, or poolside area, offering both style and functionality by providing shade and protection from the elements. However, to ensure they continue to serve you well through the seasons, proper care and maintenance are crucial. Regular maintenance can prevent common issues like fading, mildew growth, and mechanical failure and extend the lifespan of your umbrella to ensure its safety and reliability.
